BCCK-The Business Integrity Initiative

A 2018 report by the UK Department for International Trade found that Businesses would like more practical guidance and support on the execution of anticorruption policies.  It also found the current narrative from governments as ‘punitive’, ‘scary’ and ‘off-putting’.

The challenge was to build a positive business integrity campaign to make explicit what companies can and should be doing.

Our Solution

  • We conceived and implemented a new programme, which we named the BCCK Integrity Index.
  • Developed and promoted a listing of businesses in Kenya, who are committed to integrity and have a track record of working ethically.
  • To simplify an overly complex topic, developed 6 integrity principles around which we focused all our communications.
  • Launched the inaugural index in 2020 with a digital campaign and continue to grow year-on-year.

The Impact

  • Attracted 30 companies to the inaugural programme (doubled in 2021).
  • Digital media coverage with +20,000 views.
  • Social followers grew by over 1,000 year on year.
  • Generated nearly half a million social impressions.

Awards

  • 2021 EMEA SABRE Digital Certificate of Excellence.
