Faraja

Challenge

It is estimated that more than 40,000 people are diagnosed with cancer annually in Kenya. Of the new cases, 80% are reported late, and with limited treatment options.

Faraja was founded to provide free information, complementary therapies, and financial support.

Our work

  • We advised Faraja for +3 years to build share of voice among the public, cancer patients, media, and corporates.
  • Built a monthly story flow for distribution across digital and mainstream media.
  • Amplified mass-participation events such as national coffee mornings, fundraisers and corporate white-water rafting.

Impact

  • Helped drive 50% increase in foot fall to Cancer Centres.
  • Supported raising of US$ 1 million medical support fund.

Awards

  • 2016 PRSK Not for Profit Award
  • 2017 African Not for Profit SABRE.
